A shot of a plant in the meadows, covered in morning dew during sunrise.

This picture was shot at my favourite location to shoot sunrise photo’s: In the meadows of the “Veenzijdse Polder” near The Hague. The previous photo (of the curious cow), this photo from before and this photograph are also taken near that same location.

When I walked around in the meadow, there were some flowers near the waterline. These were all covered in morning dew and I thought it would be nice to show those flowers with the sun in the background. Because, hey… the sunrise was the reason for the trip to there.
So, I focussed on the flower -which was tricky near the waterside- and set the Fnumber low. The reason for this was to get the sun in the frame, but it would be vague. With a shallow depth-of-field you can get that effect.

At that time (in 2015) I was not yet on full manual mode; the setting was on aperture priority. So, giving it a low Fnumber and having the ISO on 100, the camera advised to have an exposure of 4000. I remember that this gave me a relief because sitting next to the waterline without a tripod was not the most easy position. A fast exposure would give me some flexibility in sitting still 🙂 In post I did not do much. The picture was in my eyes already great.
The picture was made on the spot, without any fancy settings, any gear nor any real post production. That made this shot a great impulsive photo!
