Look up to the sky
This picture was shot in Oktober 2014 when I visited the European Union Aviation Safety Agency in Cologne, Germany. At that moment, they were still housed in their old building on the Deutz side of the city. Now they are located just north of the city center. The entrance of that “old” building is a grant hall with a glass ceiling and you can see the highrise through it. Quite impressive!
On those business trips I do not pack my big camera. At least not that time. So I shot this picture with my Galaxy S3. That camera is almost always set onto the automatic function. So from the EXIF info I can read that there was a aperture priority set, with an exposure time of 1/50th of a second. The ISO was set on 80 and the F value was at 2.60 (which is fixed with this camera). So all I had to do is to push the button.
Well… I did do some post processing with this photo. I tried to get the angles straight (at the sides you can see the the camera was not completely horizontally flat when I took the shot, hence the skewed sides there) and I did do some magic with the colors. All this was done later when I was already home again from my trip.
The picture was made on the spot, without any fancy settings, any gear but with some post production. That made this shot a great impulsive photo!
