Hello little friend!
A big signal from a small animal!
This picture was -again- shot with the camera of my girlfriend in June 2015. We were doing a morning hike and both had our camera’s with us. She had her macro lens with her and suddenly I saw a small dragonfly. Instantly I grabbed her camera and lens and shot this picture of this little friend without thinking.
My motive was to have the tiny creature on the picture. However… dragonflies are fast critters!! They seem to know where you are and leave before you can focus. This one however stayed on the stem of the plant for a while and it let me shoot several pictures of him/her. I did not want to bother about any settings on the camera, thus shot it in full auto, fearing it would fly off before I had the picture. Sometimes this just works best when you know you can thrust your camera!
At that particular moment I did not look at the pictures themselves. Consequently, when we got back home and downloaded all the pictures on the computer, I saw that on one of the pictures the dragonfly seemed to be waving to the lens. Almost like he wanted to say hello. Or perhaps the little critter was saying that I needed to take some distance and respect its privacy. I think we will never know! What I do know is that the picture turned out to be a great impulsive photo!
