Long exposure shot on the fair

Great long exposure shot , made in 2014 at the fair in Bathmen, The Netehrlands.

This picture was shot at the fair in Bathmen, The Netherlands in September 2014. During the day, I made some shots of the fair, however when I saw the pictures, there was no real movement in those shots. Consequently I returned that evening to make some fantastic movement shots of the different rides.

To be able to shoot those movement shots, I used a tripod and a remote sensor. It was a bit of a search which settings I had to use… too long exposure would result in unrecognizable figures, while too short exposures would reveal the faces of the people. Consequently, it took me a while to have some specific settings. I ended up with an exposure of 2 and a half seconds and with the ISO on 100, it led me to an aperture of 11. I did not use the full fish-eye capability of the lens, because that would give some distortions and the people waiting in line would come in frame.

In post-processing, I only cropped the image a little bit. Because I experimented a lot with the settings with this shot, being a whole new territory for me, I placed the shot in experimental. It turned out to be a great semi-impulsive photo!
